Individuals who obtain nominating petitions from the Board of Elections to be placed on the ballot for the 2012 general election and 2012 special election must file a Statement of Candidacy (OCF Form 15) with the the Office of Campaign Finance within five days of obtaining said petitions. This obligation is required by individuals who wish to become candidates for the following offices in 2012:
- At-Large Member of the District of Columbia Council
- Ward Member of the District of Columbia Council (Wards 2, 4, 7 and 8)
- At-Large Member of the State Board of Education
- Ward Member of the State Board of Education (Wards 2, 4, 7 and 8)
- United States Senator
- United States Representative
- Chairperson of the District of Columbia Council
Candidates for Delegate to the United House of Representatives and Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner are not required to file the Statement of Candidacy.
Please note that if you wish to run for the office of chairperson and another office, you must file a Statement of Candidacy and any accompanying documents necessary for both offices.
