NOTICE TO CANDIDATES FOR ADVISORY NEIGHBORHOOD COMMISSIONER

The District of Columbia Municipal Regulations (DCMR) require that each candidate for Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner (ANC) to file The Summary Financial Statement of Candidate for the Office of Member of an Advisory Neighborhood Commission (OCF Form 18) no later than sixty (60) days after the Board of Elections certifies the election results or certifies the filling of an ANC vacancy. The Board of Elections will conduct at the November 8, 2016 General Election, the election of the candidates for Advisory Neighborhood Commission Members.
The Summary Financial Statement of Candidate for the Office of Member of an ANC shall include: total receipts and expenditures relative to seeking election to the Office of ANC; Cash on Hand at the close of the reporting period; total amount of Debts and Obligations owed to and owed by the ANC candidate; the method of disposal of surplus funds; certification that the ANC candidate did not receive contributions from any person excluding the candidate, in excess of twenty-five ($25) dollars; or a certification that the ANC candidate did not receive contributions from any person or make expenditures, including from or by the candidate, to support the election to ANC office.
The OCF Form 18 must be electronically filed on our website.  Following the certification by the Board of the results of the November 8, 2016 General Election, reminder letters will be mailed to each ANC candidate containing the necessary information to file their report electronically.  In the interim, if you wish to obtain further information, please contact Wesley Williams, Public Affairs Manager, via email at [email protected].  Additionally, the Office of Campaign Finance will be conducting training sessions specifically for ANCs on September, 15 2016 and a date to be determined in October, 2016.  We strongly encourage you to attend.
Filing the report electronically is mandatory, unless you obtain an exception to the electronic filing requirement from the Office of Campaign Finance.
