Online
Filing System
On April 5, 2000,
DC Act 13-204 became law, which requires the Director of Campaign
Finance to provide for the filing of certain financial disclosure
reports via an electronic format for activity occurring in Fiscal
Year 2001. To implement this new law, the Office of Campaign
Finance (OCF) promulgated regulations regarding electronic filing,
including soliciting comments from candidates, committees, and
the general public.
Reporting entities have the option of submitting their filings
electronically via a web-based system. This system allows for
the direct online submission of filings, and automatically updates
various OCF processes used for disclosure and review of reports.
These submissions are verified by OCF, stored, and made available
to the public via the Internet.
